A Short Biography
Genesis
My life journey began in Riga, Latvia, followed by years in Ekaterinburg, Russia, before I immigrated to the United States in 1991. My Russian name “Lyubov” means “Love”. My native language is Russian.
With over 33 years of experience in teaching and academic research across Russia, Canada, France, and the United States, I define myself as a transcultural and transdisciplinary educator. My diverse background encompasses subjects ranging from chemistry and the philosophy of postmodern science to multicultural education, science education, art education, and imaginative education.
Since moving to Panama City Beach, Florida, I have truly found my home. I am eager to apply my experience, skills, and dedication to the local landscape as a proud member of the PCB Chamber of Commerce, where I am honored to serve as an ambassador. The goal of my firm, THE THIRD, is to contribute to the regional business community by offering a unique, transdisciplinary, system-based approach to academic and corporate consulting.

PROFESSIONAL FOCUS
Transmodern/transdisciplinary approach to leadership, research, team building, and education
Research and Academic Foundation
My research interests are centered on the philosophy and metaphysics of transmodernism, the transmodern vision for education, and emerging transdisciplinary forms of leadership and group architecture.
My interest in transmodernism, transdisciplinary studies, and transculturalism emerged during my doctoral research. My thesis, titled "You were a star once, weren't you? Nonlinear steps into the re-enchantment of science education," was recognized as a national semi-finalist in North America and received the Outstanding Dissertation of the Year Award from the Canadian Association for Curriculum Studies.
Over the past 25 years, I have expanded upon the "trans-" concepts explored in my doctoral work. I have outlined the theoretical foundation for this ongoing inquiry in my forthcoming book “The leaves are falling upwards! The journey toward THE THIRD: How can I recognize my home?”
I am currently applying this transdisciplinary theoretical framework within my firm, THE THIRD, to provide strategic guidance in both educational and corporate settings. To further bridge theory and practice, I am interviewing distinguished leaders in Panama City Beach whom I consider to be "transmodern." My goal is to compile these insights into an anthology titled “The light in the liminal horizons: An anthology of transmodern leadership for the future of PCB, Florida”.
These works serve as resources for teachers and parents, illustrating a transdisciplinary approach to teaching and learning. They are designed to foster collaboration and cooperation while instilling essential values such as friendship, empathy, kindness, and respect for our Mother Earth.
Videos that exemplify my vision of transmodern education can be viewed on my YouTube channel
My vision of transmodern education is manifested in my books:
- The Universe Through Science, Imagery, and Verse: Science Even for Those Who Have Liked Science (designed for K-8 students)
- The Adventures of the Evil Old Lady: A Modern Fairytale with a Happy End (designed for K-3 students)
Inspiration and Personal Life
Beyond my professional endeavors, my two grandchildren serve as my kindred spirits and constant source of inspiration. My personal life is defined by my passions for writing, dancing, world travel, a healthy lifestyle, video production, and fashion.
This creative drive led me to launch my own clothing brand, "THE THIRD IDENTITY," where I design and create clothes and hats using recycled materials. Please visit my e-boutique on this site.
My five main personality traits are:
- Grandma
- Academic
- Fashionista
- Latvian/Russian/American hybrid
- Adventurer and traveler
I developed the artistic way to depict our hybridized THIRD identities through mandalas. Below is mine. What is yours?
